WHAT IS HIGH GRADE NEUROENDOCRINE CANCER

High-grade neuroendocrine cancer is a relentless and aggressive disease that can strike any part of the body—even in children. It develops in neuroendocrine cells, which are vital for controlling hormones and bodily functions.

Unlike more common cancers, it grows fast, spreads early, and often leaves patients with limited treatment options.

"WHEN YOU HEAR HOOFBEATS, YOU THINK HORSES, NOT ZEBRAS." Neuroendocrine cancers are rare and often misdiagnosed, making patients with this condition the "zebras" of the medical world.

By supporting research, we can drive breakthroughs to improve treatments and outcomes, offering hope to patients and families facing this devastating disease.

"We're expanding treatment options across various lines of neuroendocrine tumors, ensuring each type, from lung to pancreas to small bowel, has access to innovative clinical trials beyond the standard of care," said Amr Mohamed, MD, Director of UH Seidman's Neuroendocrine Tumor Program.
